Summer Farming Tips: In the scorching heat and scorching heat of June-July, when the borewells in the fields dry up completely and there is no canal nearby for irrigation, then farmers face a huge crisis to save their crops. Due to severe water shortage, lush green crops start withering within a moment. Due to which there remains a fear of huge loss. But even in such difficult times, there is no need to panic or lose courage.
By adopting some smart, modern and scientific methods, you can keep your entire crop green and blooming even with very less water. For this you just have to stop wastage of water and make proper management of providing moisture directly to the roots of the plants. Let us know about those superhit and practical measures which will save your farming even in this severe drought.
Adopt modern irrigation techniques
The traditional method of irrigation by pouring water over the entire field is no longer useful in summer because it wastes a lot of water. Instead, you should immediately adopt advanced technologies like drip irrigation or micro-sprinklers, which provide water directly to the roots of the plants and save 50 to 70 percent water by preventing evaporation. Always do irrigation in the morning or evening so that the water does not evaporate in the strong afternoon sun.
Save every drop of water by mulching
Along with this, definitely try the formula of mulching in your field. Cover the empty land between the plants thoroughly with dry leaves, straw or plastic mulch. Due to this, direct sunlight will not fall on the soil, the soil moisture will remain locked for a long time and unnecessary weeds will also not grow.

Spraying Anti-Stress Spray
To protect crops from harsh sunlight and hot winds, some amazing anti-stress sprays suggested by scientists prove to be very effective. Spray your plants with a liquid containing silicone, which forms a transparent glass-like safety layer on the leaves and reflects bright sunlight back, keeping the leaves cool. By spraying seaweed extract with this, the plants come out of the heat stress and spread their roots deeply so that they can absorb water from inside the ground.
Protect crops from heat by building ridges
For protection, plant tall crops like maize or pigeon pea around the ridges of your farm, which will act as a natural windbreaker and prevent hot winds from entering the field. Further, as soon as monsoon arrives, make a recharge pit near the dry borewell, filter the rain water and pour it into it, which will increase the water level again.
