Petrol-Diesel Rate Today on June 9: Amidst pressure on the energy supply chain due to the ongoing conflict in West Asia, India officially launched E85 fuel, an important step towards the country’s ethanol blending program. During this period, no change was seen in the prices of petrol and diesel in the country.
Talking about petrol, the price in Hyderabad is highest at Rs 115.72 per liter followed by Thiruvananthapuram at Rs 115.49 per liter. In four metro cities – New Delhi and Kolkata, petrol prices remained stable at Rs 102.12 and Rs 113.47 per liter respectively, while in Mumbai and Chennai the prices increased marginally by 3 paise and 4 paise per liter to Rs 111.21 and Rs 107.88 per liter respectively.

What did the Petroleum Minister say?
Meanwhile, Indian consumers troubled by rising fuel prices may get some relief in the coming months. Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has said that oil prices are unlikely to remain at their current high levels for ‘very long’ and are expected to decline in the coming months.
His statement came at a time when the global energy market is under pressure amidst the atmosphere of tension related to Iran. Due to this, there has been disruption in the supply of oil and gas and the prices of crude oil have reached near the level of $ 100 per barrel.
Rates will reduce despite tension
According to a Reuters report, while talking to CNN-News18, Puri said that despite the current geopolitical tension, oil and gas prices are likely to decline in the coming months.
Global crude oil prices have risen sharply since the conflict affected shipments through the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most important energy routes. Before the conflict began, about a fifth of the world’s oil and gas supplies passed through this narrow waterway. However, the minister expressed confidence that the current level of prices is unlikely to persist for long.
