TC collected fine of Rs 500 from the passenger
In the viral video, a boy, while recording a video while walking on the train platform, tells that he had come to the station to drop his family by the 12 o’clock train, but he first got information that the train was late by 2 hours. Later the train started with more delay and reached the station after about 5 hours. During such a long wait, a TC asked him to show the platform ticket, after seeing the ticket the TC told that the validity of the platform ticket was only for 2 hours and now it has expired. The young man attributed the delay to the train being late, but the TC said that he should have bought a new platform ticket after the ticket expired. After this, a fine of Rs 500 was imposed on him. In the video, the young man gets angry and asks that when he was forced to stop on the platform due to the train being late, then who will take responsibility for this delay. Will Railways take responsibility for this? He is also seen angrily demanding from the Railways to reconsider its rules and improve the system.

On this video, a user wrote that Railways strictly enforces the rules for collecting fines from passengers, but when trains are late for hours, there is no visible system to provide relief to the passengers. Another user said that Railways needs to change its rules so that passengers do not face problems regarding the validity of platform tickets in case of train delay. Some people advised that the young man should complain in the consumer forum and present his side in a legal manner. However, some users also said that after the expiry of the platform ticket, it is the responsibility of the passenger to get a new ticket and following the rules is equally important for everyone.
