Captain Harmanpreet Kaur’s reaction on whether the Indian cricket team will shake hands with Pakistani players or not is going viral. Today the match between India and Pakistan (IND W vs PAK W) is to be played in the Women’s T20 World Cup 2026. Before the big match, when Harmanpreet was asked whether Team India would shake hands with Pakistani players or not, the captain clearly replied that they are here to play cricket.
Since last year’s Men’s Asia Cup 2025, Indian players have adopted a no-handshake policy with the Pakistan team. After that, the Indian women’s cricket team also continued this trend in the 2025 Women’s ODI World Cup.

On the question of shaking hands with Pakistani players, captain Harmanpreet Kaur said, “I think we have come here just to play cricket and we will talk only about cricket. Apart from cricket, we will not talk about any other topic. I too am not thinking about any other topic apart from cricket.”
Captain Harmanpreet said that playing cricket has been her dream since day one and she talks about the same and she is watching the match against Pakistan like any other match.

Captain Harmanpreet Kaur also accepted the pressure of the match between India and Pakistan. Harmanpreet said that whenever there is an India-Pakistan match, there is definitely pressure. The captain said that Team India will play it like other matches and will try to give its 100 percent.
