First of all decide for which exam you have to prepare. Many candidates start preparing for SSC, Bank, Railway, Police and state level examinations simultaneously. Due to this their focus does not remain at one place. Experts believe that first choose an exam and understand its syllabus thoroughly. When the goal is clear, then the preparation also moves in the right direction. In most of the government examinations, questions related to Mathematics, Reasoning, General Knowledge, Current Affairs and Language are asked, hence it is important to have a strong hold on these subjects.

The second most important task is to make a study time table. Do not make such a time table that you leave after two days. Regular study of 5 to 6 hours daily can also give good results. Read current affairs and general knowledge in the morning, while focus on subjects like mathematics and reasoning during the day. Keep at least one day every week only for revision.
