US Vice President JD Vance on Thursday (June 18) targeted those who were opposing the peace agreement with Iran. He said that Tel Aviv cannot solve every problem just by killing. Defending the US-Iran peace deal, Vance said that US President Donald Trump is Israel’s only ally.
While explaining Israel in the press briefing held at the White House, Vance said that Donald J. Trump is the only leader in the world who is sympathetic towards Israel at this time. If I were in the Israeli cabinet, I would not attack our only powerful ally left in the world.
JD Vance reminded cabinet members of the Israeli government that two-thirds of Israel’s defense weapons are made in America and American tax money was used for them. Vance said, “The problem for Israel is not Donald J. Trump. Anyone in Israel who thinks that their biggest problem is the President of the United States, they need to wake up and understand the real situation in the country.”
There is no solution by killing – Vance
In an interview with The New York Times, Vance strongly criticized Israeli Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich for opposing the US-Iran peace deal. Vance said, “What is your real proposal? You are a country of 9 million people. You cannot solve every national security problem just by killing.”

JD Vance said, “I find this turmoil in Israel a little strange, because I think it’s because of mistrust and I believe that America has earned the trust of that area of the world.” Vance was defending the deal struck this week to end the war with Iran, which is being criticized in the US and Israel. Critics say that this deal has failed to stop Iran’s missile program and no clear provision has been made in it to eliminate nuclear sites.
After Vance’s remarks, US President Donald Trump said in a post on social media that he has appealed to everyone in West Asia to maintain their commitment to continue dialogue. “We expect a complete ceasefire on all fronts, including Lebanon, Hezbollah and Israel,” Trump wrote.
