Batting first in the third ODI being played in Chennai, Afghanistan’s innings was limited to 218 runs, although there was a time when it seemed that the team might not get bundled out within 100. Century partnership between Shahidi and Omarzai

After 4 wickets fell at 36, captain Hashmatullah Shahidi and Azmatullah Omarzai made an important partnership of 105 runs. Omarzai was out after scoring a half-century (50), this pair was broken by Prince Yadav, playing his second match.

Prasidh Krishna took 5 wickets

Afghanistan’s 10th wicket fell in the form of Hashmatullah Shahidi, he had completed his century before getting out. He played an important inning of 102 runs in 131 balls with the help of 1 six and 13 fours. With this, Afghanistan reached a respectable score of 218.
