Team India has suffered a big setback before the England tour. Star all-rounder Hardik Pandya has been ruled out of the ODI series against England. Whereas former captain Virat Kohli is recovering from the injury suffered in IPL. King Kohli will have a fitness test on 22nd June. After this a decision will be taken on them. Both these players remained out of the three-match series against Afghanistan.

Virat Kohli is recovering well from a right leg muscle injury and will report to the BCCI ‘Centre of Excellence’ (COE) on June 22 for re-examination and further planning. According to the report, a member of the COE’s sports science team had visited Britain to assess Kohli’s fitness before giving him a rehabilitation programme. Kohli lives in London with his family. He suffered a minor muscle injury during the IPL final against Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad.

The fitness update sent by the sports science team of COE to the selection committee and team management said, Virat Kohli is recovering well after suffering a muscle injury in his right leg in the IPL. The COE team in London examined him and scheduled him for the initial phase of rehab. He will report to the CoE on June 22 for re-examination, further planning and approval.

A BCCI source with knowledge of the matter told PTI, Virat Kohli will get fitness clearance after the fitness test in Bengaluru on Monday. Before that, he will participate in a promotional event in Delhi on Sunday.

Meanwhile, all-rounder Hardik Pandya has not been able to recover from the (quadriceps) injury suffered before the Afghanistan ODI series. He is not in a position to bowl his full quota of overs and has been dropped from the England ODI series. It will take more time for Pandya to become fully fit.
