According to the ICC, Afghanistan captain Hashmatullah Shahidi was seen repeatedly running on the pitch despite repeated warnings in the third ODI against India, which could cause damage to it. This is Shahidi’s first mistake of violating rules in the last 24 months. He had been warned twice before not to run on the pitch. He was given this warning for the first time in the 31st over of Afghanistan’s innings and again in the 40th over, when he repeated the same mistake. And in the end the result was that the team had to face a penalty of 5 runs in the match.
