IND Women vs SA Women: In the Group 1 match of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup played at the Old Trafford ground in Manchester, South Africa’s experienced all-rounder Marizanne Cap changed the course of the match. He made the chase of 159 runs successful against India by playing the biggest innings of his T20 International career. Thanks to his brilliant batting, South Africa achieved the target in 19.1 overs. With this victory, the Proteas team registered its second win in three matches, while India had to suffer its first defeat in three matches.
Indian team could not score big
In the match, the Indian captain won the toss and decided to bat first. However, Team India could score only 158 runs after losing 7 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. The Indian team made a fast start and added 59 runs for 2 wickets in 6 overs of powerplay. But after this the pace of batting slowed down and the team could not reach a big score.
Opener Smriti Mandhana scored 17 runs, while Shefali Verma played a useful inning of 31 runs. After this, Yastika Bhatia and Jemimah Rodrigues were out after scoring 15 runs each. In the middle order, Harmanpreet Kaur contributed 24 runs and Deepti Sharma contributed 29 runs, but no batsman played a big innings.

On the other hand, Marizanne Cap also played an important role in South Africa’s bowling. He took 2 wickets for 27 runs in his 4 overs. At the same time, Shabnim Ismail also stopped India from reaching a big score by taking 2 wickets.
