America and Iran have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) regarding a peace agreement to completely end the conflict in West Asia, but this peace agreement is being considered a big cause of trouble for Israel and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. In fact, this peace agreement between the two parties not only includes the provision of ending enmity between the two countries, but also talks about ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah and respect for the territorial sovereignty and integrity of Lebanon.

At the same time, this agreement has created a difficult political and strategic challenge for Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu, because continuing military action against Hezbollah has been the center of the current security policy of Israel’s Netanyahu government, while on the other hand, the US-Iran agreement points in the complete opposite direction of Netanyahu’s plan.

Israeli administration does not want to leave Lebanon

According to PTI language report, another ceasefire was agreed upon between Israel and Hezbollah on Friday (June 19, 2026), but the very next day Israel bombed Lebanon. In response to this attack, Iran announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz once again, due to which the situation became more tense.

In fact, Israel has increased its military attacks against Hezbollah since March 2026 and has taken control of many areas in the southern and eastern parts of Lebanon. During this time, the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) has also carried out attacks in South Beirut, destroying the traditional strongholds of Hezbollah.

At the same time, the IDF has captured many strategic areas and has issued orders to the local people to return. Along with this, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz has also said that Israeli forces will remain deployed in security areas without any time limit and these areas will be freed from terrorist structures and the local population. This military operation has widespread support in Israel. This makes it clear that the Israeli administration does not want to weaken its hold in Lebanon.

80 percent of Israeli public in favor of military action on Lebanon

According to the report, according to a recent survey conducted in Israel, about 80 percent of Israeli citizens are in favor of continuing the war against Hezbollah, even if it increases tensions with America. In view of the upcoming elections, this support is considered politically important for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Netanyahu is under pressure to deliver a message of security and a decisive victory ahead of elections expected by October to reduce domestic criticism, but US President Donald Trump wants to score political points by ending a protracted war in Middle East Asia before the upcoming midterm elections. For this, they are taking forward the agreement with Iran and are expecting patience from Israel.

Israel’s relations with America important

Analysts believe that relations between America and Israel are unequal, with America’s economic and military aid being extremely important for Israel. Under the recent agreement between the two countries, America provides about $ 3.8 billion in aid to Israel every year, but in the current circumstances, the situation in Lebanon also remains very sensitive. Because the election atmosphere in Israel is heated and the US-Iran talks seem to be moving in a direction different from Israel’s interests. In such a situation, the biggest question is which way the political boat of Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu will turn now.
