Australia Women vs West Indies Women Semi-final: Australia secured its ticket to the final by defeating West Indies by 8 wickets in the first semi-final of the 2026 Women’s T20 World Cup on Tuesday (30 June). This is the eighth time that the Kangaroo team has made it to the semi-finals of the Women’s T20 World Cup. This is the 10th season of the tournament. Kangaroo team has won 6 T20 World Cups so far. Talking about the semi-finals, Australia won the match unilaterally.

Australia won the toss and decided to bowl, which proved to be absolutely correct. West Indies, who came to bat first, were restricted to just 125 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs by the Kangaroo bowlers. Captain and opener Healy Mathews played the biggest inning of 30 runs for the team. Whereas for Australia, Sophie Molineux, Ashley Gardner and Georgia Wareham took maximum 2-2 wickets.

Australia came out for the chase and won by scoring 127 runs for 2 wickets in 13 overs. In the chase, wicketkeeper batsman Beth Mooney played a brilliant innings for the team and scored 61* runs with 8 fours in 36 balls.

Beth Mooney along with Ashley Gardner made a partnership of 63* runs in 36 balls for the fourth wicket, which easily took the team over the victory line. During this, captain Healy Mathews and Chinelle Henry took 1-1 wicket for West Indies.

Australia’s performance in the tournament

Australia did not lose a single match to reach the World Cup final. The team won all five matches of the first group stage and made it to the semi-finals. Now after defeating West Indies in the semi-finals, they made it to the finals.

In the group stage, Australia won the first match against South Africa by 65 runs. In the second match, Kangaroo team defeated Bangladesh by 9 wickets. In the third match, Australia won against Netherlands by 98 runs. Moving ahead, they defeated Pakistan by 113 runs in the fourth match. In the fifth and last match of the group stage, Australia defeated India by 6 wickets.
