On June 29, an FIR was registered in Ratibad, Bhopal, against all-rounder Shashank Singh, who plays for Punjab Kings, and his IPS father Shailesh Singh for assaulting and abusing their home cook Vipendra Singh Tomar. The matter came to light regarding the cook not cooking good food.
According to the report published in Dainik Bhaskar, the cricketer’s family did not like the food prepared by Vipendra. Due to not liking the food, Shashank Singh, his father and the driver together beat and abused the cook. His phone was confiscated and despite his refusal, he was forced to do the work.
Keeping security in mind, cook Vipendra locked himself in the room. But somehow the cricketer’s family opened the room and beat him up. Cook suffered injuries on his body and face. The seized phones were also not returned.
Work pressure created from the beginning
The cook told that he was called from Rewa to Bhopal through a person he knew and was told that there was cooking work at Shailesh Singh’s house. This work will also help him in getting a government job in future. He will be given Rs 15,000 for the work of a cook. Apart from this, accommodation and food facilities will also be available.
But within a few hours of starting work, continuous work pressure started being created. Vipendra told that the cook already working at the house was also being abused.
Police registered the case
Police have registered a case against Shailesh Singh, Shashank Singh and one other under sections 296(B), 115(2) and 3(5) of the Indian Justice Code (BNS). At present the police investigation is going on. Further action will be taken after investigation.
