The problem of registration of devotees in Amarnath Yatra in Jammu and Kashmir has gained momentum, after which Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha held a high level review meeting. In which instructions were given to the officials that the devotees coming for Amarnath Yatra should not face any problem. Therefore, following the registration program is mandatory for everyone.
In fact, some complaints were received that the pilgrims who had got the date of 4th July, are now being given the date of 8th August. Due to which the devotees faced the problem of staying for such a long time. At present, all passengers have been instructed to come only after registering.
Review of pilgrim movement
The Lieutenant Governor reviewed the movement of pilgrims, traffic management, security arrangements, accommodation, registration status and other logistical aspects to ensure smooth and safe conduct of the Yatra. During the meeting, it was found that a large number of pilgrims are coming without valid registration, due to which the pilgrims have to wait for a long time to travel.

The Lieutenant Governor stressed that in compliance with the orders of the Honorable Supreme Court, the Yatra is being conducted as per the prescribed limit of movement of pilgrims on the Yatra routes. Therefore, it is mandatory to follow the registration schedule to ensure the safety and convenience of all pilgrims. It was reiterated that only pilgrims with valid registration for the stipulated date will be allowed to proceed on the routes leading to the Holy Cave Temple.
Appeal to those without registration to postpone the journey
LG Sinha appealed to the intending pilgrims without registration to postpone their journey by a few days to avoid any inconvenience upon reaching Jammu and Kashmir. Therefore, the administration has asked all interested pilgrims to complete the mandatory registration process and obtain a valid Yatra Registration Permit for their allotted date before undertaking the journey to Jammu and Kashmir. Pilgrims have been asked not to travel without confirmed registration as they will not be allowed to proceed on the journey.

The Lieutenant Governor also reviewed the security and logistical arrangements for the yatra. He directed all departments and security agencies to work closely with each other and maintain constant touch with all concerned parties including langar organisations, service providers and other NGOs to make the Yatra safe, smooth, spiritually enriching and satisfying.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Atal Dullu, J&K DGP Nalin Prabhat, Special DG (Coordination) in PHQ S.J.M. Geelani, Principal Secretary of Home Department Chandrakar Bharti, Joint Director of Intelligence Bureau (IB) Pankaj Thakur, Principal Secretary to Lieutenant Governor and CEO of Amarnathji Shrine Board Dr. Mandeep K. Bhandar, and senior officials of civil administration, police, security forces, Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board and other concerned departments participated.
