According to the viral post, Vivek Sharma had received a job offer of about 2.40 lakh dollars (Rs 2.90 crore annually) from a startup in San Francisco, America. This also included visa sponsorship, relocation benefits and the opportunity to build a career at the global level.

Parents’ illness changed the decision
Vivek is from a lower middle class family. His father is a clerk in the Railways, while his mother used to help the family financially by giving tuitions. The family even spent their savings for his education and made every possible effort to send him to IIT.
Preparations were going on to go to America, during this time suddenly Vivek’s luck changed. Vivek’s father suffered a heart attack and his mother was diagnosed with cancer. In such a situation, Vivek thought it better to stay with his parents instead of going abroad and making his career. This is the reason why Vivek opened a grocery store in Kanpur to meet the family’s expenses. He also started teaching coding to needy children for free.
