Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has once again appointed star batsman Babar Azam as the captain of Pakistan’s Test team. PCB had handed over the captaincy from Babar Azam to Shan Masood in 2023, but under the leadership of Masood, the Pakistan team was continuously performing poorly. Now once again the board has made Babar Azam the test captain. PCB has announced the Pakistan team for the West Indies and England Test series. Star fast bowler Shaheen Afridi has been dropped from the team. Whereas Hasan Ali and Noman Ali have also not got a place in the team for these two series.

Pakistan played 16 test matches under the captaincy of Shan Masood. During this period he had to face defeat in 12 tests. Recently, Pakistan team also had to lose the test series against Bangladesh. Along with this, the Pakistan team was also defeated in the test series against South Africa and Australia.

PCB has announced a 16-member team for the West Indies series. However, Saud Shakeel has been kept in the team as the 17th player for the England tour. But Shakeel will have to undergo a fitness test before joining the team. The selectors have included four young players in the team for the first time. These four players are left-arm spinner Ali Usman, batsman Muhammad Awais Zafar, fast bowler Ubaid Shah and wicketkeeper-batsman Muhammad Ghazi Ghori.

Pakistan team will leave for West Indies first. Pakistan team will play two test matches in West Indies. The first test of this series will be played from 25 to 29 July. At the same time, the second test match will be held in Port of Spain from 2 to 6 August. After this the Pakistan team will go to England for a three-match test series. These three Test matches will be played between 19 August and 13 September in Leeds, Lord’s and Birmingham.
