Jamia Millia Islamia has started the admission process for the new academic session for students who wish to acquire employable skills along with higher education. On one hand, the university has released the program for admission in MSc Biotechnology, on the other hand, it has also invited applications for short term skill courses related to digital and entrepreneurship for the youth.

Online applications for admission to MSc Biotechnology will start from July 10. Interested candidates will be able to apply on the university’s admission portal till July 20. This two-year postgraduate course is conducted in collaboration with the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science and Technology. Admission will be purely on the basis of GAT-B (Graduate Aptitude Test-Biotechnology) score and the reservation policy of the University will be applicable.

A total of 10 seats are available in this course. To apply, a candidate must have at least 50 percent marks in B.Pharma, B.Sc. Biotechnology, Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Genetics or any subject related to Modern Biology.

At the same time, keeping in view the needs of changing technology and digital world, the university has also started many short term skill courses for the youth. The application process for admission to these courses has started and interested candidates can apply online till July 12. These courses will be conducted under the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship and Smart Academy for Digital Technology and Digital Entrepreneurship. Their objective is not just to give certificates to the youth, but to equip them with practical skills as per the needs of the industry.

Modern topics like Digital Entrepreneurship, Advanced Digital Marketing, AI Driven Data Analysis and UI/UX Design have been included in the skill course. All classes will be in offline mode, where students will get practical training along with guidance from experienced experts. The university says that these programs have been designed keeping in mind the national initiatives like Skill India and Self-reliant India. Their objective is to connect the youth with new technologies, increase their employability and prepare them for startups and digital businesses.
