E85 Fuel: For the last several days, discussions regarding ethanol mix petrol are becoming very intense in the market. On one hand the government is supporting it, while on the other hand many people are seen against it. Ever since this fuel was announced, many flaws are being found in it. Now meanwhile, all the rumors floating about E20 fuel have been rejected by the government.
What did the Petroleum Minister say?
In fact, recently Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri had come to participate in a program of News 18. During this, he talked openly about ethanol blended petrol and answered every question openly. During this time, he described people’s concerns regarding petrol mixed with 20% ethanol i.e. E20 as completely baseless. He said, ‘The news of engine damage due to E20 petrol is wrong. This scheme has been started to improve the environment and reduce India’s dependence on oil imports.

Government preparing to introduce E85
During this time, Minister Hardeep Singh Puri also talked about E85 fuel and told that the government is preparing to introduce it soon. He said, ‘The government is preparing to introduce E85 petrol. It will contain up to 85% ethanol and its price can be about Rs 20 per liter less than E20 petrol. However, it can be used only in flex-fuel vehicles (FFV).
E25 is also being tested
Not only this, but Minister Hardir Singh Puri also made it clear that E25 petrol is currently only at the testing level. There should not be any kind of confusion regarding this. The government will take any further decision only after scientific examination. He also said that the government also gives full support to electric vehicles (EV). This means that in the coming time, both ethanol blended fuel and electric vehicles will grow together in India.
