World Champion Team India has suddenly started looking like an average team. After IPL 2026, Team India had to face embarrassing defeats against Ireland and England. The Indian team could not win a single match in both the series. England defeated India 4-0 in the five-match series. Earlier, the Indian team had lost both the matches against Ireland. Former veteran Cheteshwar Pujara has given three main reasons for the defeat in the Britain tour. Pujara blamed a weak middle order, lack of a proper all-rounder and poor fielding for India’s disappointing performance in the Ireland and England T20 series.
According to Pujara, the first reason for India’s poor performance
Cheteshwar Pujara told GeoHotstar, “England had such batsmen at number five, six, seventh and eight, who contributed fully. Talking about India, we had Tilak Verma at number five and Shivam Dubey at number six, but they did not contribute much like England’s middle order batsmen.”
According to Pujara, the second reason for India’s poor performance
Pujara further said, “India also lacks proper all-rounders and this is a matter of biggest concern for them. India’s fielding was also very poor.”
According to Pujara, the third reason for India’s poor performance
Pujara further said, “It can be accepted that this is a young team which could not perform as expected in batting and bowling, but poor fielding cannot be accepted in any way. Fielding plays an important role in the T20 format, but India’s fielding remained weak throughout the series and this is a matter of great concern.”
