According to the report of The New York Times, this planning of Mossad started in the year 2024 from Budapest, the capital of Hungary. Professor Gergely Daly, Rector of Ludovica University of Budapest, was given strange instructions by a top official of the Hungarian government. The officer asked to organize a conference in the university and asked to invite former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as a guest. The professor later came to know that this entire conference was just a sham. Mossad wanted a secret meeting with Ahmadinejad.
Israel was so serious about this mission that the then Mossad Chief David Barnia himself reached Budapest to meet Ahmadinejad. Mossad had also informed the American intelligence agency CIA about this. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who was the President of Iran from 2005 to 2013, once talked about erasing Israel from the world map and was known for promoting the nuclear program. However, after leaving the post of President, his mood suddenly changed. He had changed his look.

According to the report, people close to him told that the then government of Iran had disqualified Ahmadinejad from contesting elections thrice, due to which he was very angry. He wanted to regain power, but he also knew that this could never happen under the current government. He had told his close ones that if he comes to power again with the help of Israel and America, then Iran will recognize Israel under the ‘Abraham Accords’ and normalize relations with it.
How did Mossad’s entire plan get leaked?
This secret operation was active when America-Israel attacked Iran in February this year. As per the planning, Ahmadinejad was to be safely evacuated from Tehran and declared the new President of Iran. On February 28, Israel carried out an airstrike on Ahmadinejad’s compound in Tehran. In this, the building and armored vehicle of his bodyguards were targeted so that an atmosphere of chaos was created. Meanwhile, Mossad agents arrived in a black Peugeot car and took Ahmadinejad out of there and took him to a secret safe house. This rescue operation was happening so quickly that Ahmadinejad became nervous and his confidence in Israel’s plan was shaken. After this, how he got out of that safe house is not yet clear.

After the failure of this secret operation, Ahmadinejad remained missing for months. He was seen briefly for the first time last Monday at the funeral of Iran’s late supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Despite the scorching heat, he was wearing a heavy jacket and a mask on his face. Iranian officials claim that they came to know about Ahmadinejad’s secret plan and currently he is under the strict custody of the intelligence wing of IRGC. The Israeli government and Mossad have not commented on this entire matter.
