According to sources, the selection committee wants to give opportunity to young players like Yashasvi Jaiswal. Apart from this, it was also made clear that Rohit is not being seen in any role for the 2027 ODI World Cup.

The report quoted a source as saying, “The selectors have told Rohit that he has no role in their team after the England tour and after this series they are dropping him from the team. Rohit wanted to continue playing after working on his fitness. Now the selectors have left the decision to Sharma.”
