Mohit Suri’s film ‘Sayara’ created a stir at the box office as soon as it was released. The acting of Ahaan Pandey and Aneet Padda in the film was highly appreciated. This film made both of them stars overnight. Now, a year after the release of the film, music composer Tanishk Bagchi has claimed that he has not yet received the royalty of Rs 8 lakh for the superhit title track of Saiyara.

Tanishk Bagchi’s revelation
Tanishk Bagchi recently shared a long note on Instagram and said that he has not received the royalty of this song yet. He made it clear that his aim was not to get anyone’s sympathy, but to express his views.

While sharing the post of the film, Tanishk wrote in the caption, ‘This was my first film with YRF Entertainment and YRF Music. I accepted every condition because I had full faith in this music. I gave my everything for this song. Production, composition, working with singers, recording, vocal tuning, sound and arrangement, every little thing mattered to me. I made this song considering it as my own.

‘Nothing is left in the name of earning’
He wrote, ‘The nominal fee given to me by YRF was completely spent on live recording and mixing. In the end I had nothing left in the name of earning. This is what I earned from such a big song. The most sad thing is that according to the royalty statement, till now I am yet to get royalty of only Rs 8 lakh for this song which has received crores of streams and views. To be honest, 8 lakhs is very less compared to the amount of hard work, time and passion I put into this song.

He further said, ‘I am not writing all this to get sympathy. I am writing this because I know what sacrifices I have made in making this song. This experience has changed my perspective on the industry. Now I will work only with those producers and directors who respect honesty and the people who make music.

People forget when they get success
Tanishk Bagchi wrote, ‘I have learned another thing that sometimes you give your all to people, but when you get success, the same people forget who stood with them. I leave the rest to God. Time tells every story and karma settles every account. If I respect anyone in this entire film, it is Mohit Suri and Irshad Kamil. Because of these two I did this film.
