Will return in September
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli now play only ODI cricket. In such a situation, the next comeback of both of them can be in the three-match home ODI series against West Indies in September. After this, the Indian team will play five ODI matches on the tour of New Zealand in November. This ODI series, to be held after four years, is considered very important in terms of preparations for the 2027 World Cup, because the team management would like to finalize its best combination during this time.
Asia Cup will also be in focus
The Sri Lankan team will come to India for three ODI matches in December, while Zimbabwe will tour India in January 2027. After this, there is a possibility of Asia Cup in 50 over format in Bangladesh in June 2027. If this happens then Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will be seen playing in another big tournament.
14 ODI matches before the World Cup
Including the series against West Indies, New Zealand, Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe, India will have a chance to play at least 14 ODI matches before the World Cup. If Asia Cup is also organized in ODI format then the number of matches will increase further. In such a situation, every match will be very important for the preparations of Team India.
