Former Australian cricketer David Warner has confessed to his crime in Sydney court that he was driving under the influence of alcohol. He is captaining Sydney Thunder in Australia’s domestic T20 league BBL (Big Bash League), during which he himself did not appear in the court but his lawyer has formally accepted his guilt. Now the court will pronounce the sentence in this case on 18th of next month (August).
When is the matter?
This incident happened in April this year, when David Warner was driving a van. After this the police stopped him and tested whether Warner was drunk or not. Investigation revealed that the amount of alcohol in Warner’s body was double the legal limit. After this the police arrested him. Then the cricketer was taken to the police station.
David Warner’s lawyer had then said during the hearing that many people take such wrong decisions. I think it is important to accept those decisions and be accountable. No matter who you are, whether you are a doctor, a businessman or one of the best opening batsmen in the world, this threat is for all of us. He (Warner) admits that he made a mistake, it was a careless decision and it was a stupid decision to drive his car instead of recovering it.

Sydney Court will pronounce sentence in this case on August 18. After his admission of guilt, questions have also been raised on his captaincy role in the Big Bash League. According to the rules, Warner can be banned from driving for at least 6 months. He can also be fined 2200 Australian dollars and for this crime he can also be jailed for 9 months.
