Amazon is scamming users
This controversy once again came into discussion when a user re-shared his old X post. In that post, he had accused Amazon India of running a “new kind of scam”. The user says that on an order of Rs 14,999, Amazon had added an open box inspection fee of Rs 99.
What are you smoking? @amazonIN . Adding open box inspection for every item? It is your job to deliver properly isn’t it? You are saying you can’t assure safe delivery, we have to pay you to make sure your job is done correctly. This is just day light robbery. pic.twitter.com/IHsfbpu1RX

User X had raised questions on Amazon India’s open box inspection fee in his post. He had written that what kind of a new method is this, in which customers have to pay a separate fee for open box inspection, they are not even given any option to take it or not. He also wrote that once the inspection is done, the facility of return and replacement also ends. The user also said that if there is any defect in the product after inspection, what will the customer do?
Fee increased from Rs 99 to Rs 149
After a few months, the user again raised the same issue and claimed that the earlier fee of Rs 99 has now been increased to Rs 149.
