Team India recently won 3-0 in the 3-match T20 series against Zimbabwe. India’s star opener Abhishek Sharma was a complete flop in this series. He scored 01, 08 and 02 runs respectively in 3 matches. After Abhishek’s flop show, Indian player Hanuma Vihari asked why he is being backed even after the flop? Whereas different standards were adopted for Sanju Samson.

Hanuma believes that before the 2026 T20 World Cup, Sanju had flopped in a few matches and was dropped from the playing 11. On the other hand, Abhishek is being supported when he flops.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, he said, “Before the World Cup, Sanju did not perform well in 5 matches and his place in the playing 11 was lost. Later he made a comeback and became the ‘Player of the Tournament’. How many runs did Abhishek score in the same tournament?”

Talking about Abhishek’s performance on the UK tour, Hanuma Vihari said, “Apart from one fifty in the UK series, Abhishek had not scored anything. Didn’t even score 20s and 30s. Just one fifty in the last 6 matches. If you include the World Cup, there are 3 half-centuries in the last 18 matches.”

The Indian player said that even after scoring 3 consecutive fifties in the World Cup, Sanju was dropped from the playing 11 in favor of young Vaibhav Suryavanshi. Questioning the team’s policy, Hanuma said, “How many matches did Sanju play in the World Cup? Three. He scored fifty in all three matches. Abhishek’s high score in 5 matches is 16 runs. Why is no one talking about this? When it comes to Sanju, he is said to not score runs consistently. That’s fine. But he can win high pressure matches on his day.”
