Maharashtra government has started a new scheme to provide relief to the farmers of the state from the burden of debt. The name of this scheme is Punyashlok Ahilya Devi Holkar Shetkari Karjmukti Yojana 2026. Under this, crop loan of farmers up to Rs 2 lakh will be waived off. The government has started work on this scheme and has also released the first beneficiary list. Let us know about the complete information related to this scheme.
How many farmers will get the benefit and how will they get the amount?
About 31 lakh farmers are included in the first phase of the scheme. Out of these, the process of providing benefits to about 16-17 lakh farmers is currently going on. Let us tell you that the government is going to spend about Rs 36,585 crore for this scheme. Currently, in the first phase of the scheme, a list of 533 farmers from seven districts has been released. Information will be sent to the farmers whose names have appeared in this list through SMS. After this, farmers will have to check and confirm their Aadhar card information. Then after this the loan waiver amount will be sent directly to the loan account of the farmer through DBT i.e. Direct Benefit Transfer.

After this information, only one question is coming in the mind of every farmer that how to check his name in that list, then for them let us tell you that to check his name the farmer will have to register on the Agristack platform. Apart from this, Aadhaar verification can also be done by visiting about 32 thousand government service centers across the state. Apart from this, the name list of farmers will also be posted in Gram Panchayat, Co-operative Society and bank branches, so that every farmer can easily see his name.

Relief in rules, now more farmers will get benefits
This time the government has also made some changes in the rules of the scheme, due to which more farmers will be able to benefit. Farmers who had already taken the benefit of Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Kisan Loan Waiver Scheme of the year 2019 will also get the benefit of this new loan waiver of Rs 2 lakh. Earlier such farmers used to get help only up to Rs 50 thousand.
