Tension between America and Iran has once again reached its peak. US President Donald Trump has warned of a strong response after Iran’s ballistic missile attack on US military bases in Jordan. Trump said the US would give a “befitting reply” to Iran. After this action of Iran, America and Saudi Arabia have conducted a joint air strike on the bases of Iran-backed militia in Iraq. After this entire incident, the situation in West Asia has become more tense.
Trump said- Iran will get a befitting reply
While talking to Fox News, US President Donald Trump said that America will take strict action against Iran. He said, “We will give them a befitting reply. They will be attacked strongly.” Trump claimed that Iran’s attack was sudden and the US military had only a few minutes to respond. He said that the American defense system shot down all the missiles before they reached the target. Trump also said that he saw the footage in which American soldiers were intercepting missiles by giving their coordinates in real time.
IRGC took responsibility for the attack
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has claimed responsibility for the missile attack on Jordan’s Mukaffaq Salti Air Base. This air base is considered an important military base of the US Army and Central Command (CENTCOM) in Jordan. According to Iranian state media IRIB, the IRGC Aerospace Force reported that it fired several ballistic missiles at the American air base and central command center.

The Jordanian army said it destroyed five Iranian missiles in the air. According to the army, there is no immediate information about any loss of life or property in this attack.
America and Saudi Arabia carried out joint attacks in Iraq
In response to Iran’s attack, the US and Saudi Arabia took joint action against the bases of Iran-backed militias in Iraq. Both countries said that this campaign was carried out in coordination with the Iraqi government. According to Reuters, at least four military advisors of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard have been killed in these attacks. Apart from this, there is news of more than 20 fighters being killed.
What did CENTCOM say?
US Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed that US and Saudi warplanes carried out precision strikes on Iran-backed terrorist targets in eastern Iraq. According to CENTCOM, these bases were being used for weapons storage and logistics activities.
The US military said that on July 28, this action was taken against Iran-backed groups, whom the IRGC was directing to attack US troops and Saudi Arabia’s energy infrastructure. CENTCOM also said the action was taken in response to more than 30 drone strikes directed by the IRGC in the past 72 hours. The US Army claimed that Iran’s attack on US military bases in Jordan was a complete failure. CENTCOM warned that if the IRGC and its allies do not stop the attacks, the US will take further military action.
Iran strongly condemned American attacks
Iran’s Foreign Ministry strongly criticized the joint action of America and Saudi Arabia. The Foreign Ministry said that this attack is a direct attack on the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Iraq and a serious violation of Article 2(4) of the United Nations Charter and international law. Iran alleged that the US and Saudi Arabia also targeted premises associated with Iraqi government institutions and processions and halting sites of Arab pilgrims. Iran’s Foreign Ministry expressed condolences to those killed in the attacks and said that the Islamic Republic of Iran stands in full solidarity with the government and people of Iraq.
Pro-Iran organization warns of retaliatory action
Islamic Resistance in Iraq, a coalition of Iran-backed armed groups, said it was certain to respond to the actions of the US and Saudi Arabia. The group warned that its next target could also be American interests in Saudi Arabia or its associated targets.
