Gone is that era when most of the matches used to end in draws. Now is the time when the results of most test matches are out. Well, Test cricket is 150 years old and in this format, Australia is the team that has won the most matches, but which is the team that has lost the most.
This shameful record in the name of England
England has played the most Test matches in the last 150 years and is also the team that has lost the most. England has suffered defeat 336 times in 1097 test matches. The winning percentage of the British in the longest format of cricket is only 36.91. The team that has lost the most in Tests is Australia, which has suffered defeat in 235 matches so far.
Apart from England and Australia, West Indies is the third team which has suffered more than 200 defeats in red ball cricket. The Caribbean team has lost 223 matches so far. Whereas New Zealand’s losing percentage is very high. New Zealand has so far lost 39 percent of its matches and won only 25.87 percent of its matches.
India at fifth place
The Indian team played the first test match in 1932. Team India has lost 188 matches in the last 94 years. India is at fifth position in terms of losing the most test matches. After that comes South Africa, which has lost 162 test matches so far. Pakistan is at number seven, which has lost 152 matches so far.
