What did the Ministry of Defense say?
The Ministry of Defense said in a statement- some time ago, the Indian Armed Forces started ‘Operation Sindoor’, under which terrorist structure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir was targeted, from where terrorist attacks against India were planned and directed.

The ministry said that in total, nine (9) sites have been targeted. Our action has not been focused, not provoking nature. No Pakistani military hideout has been targeted. India has shown a lot of restraint in the way of selection of goals. These steps have been taken in view of the barbaric terrorist attack in Pahalgam, in which 25 Indians and a Nepali citizen were killed. We are meeting this commitment that those responsible for this attack will be held accountable. Detailed information will be given on ‘Operation Sindoor’ on Wednesday.

What happened on 22 April?
Let us tell you that on April 22, 5-6 terrorists targeted tourists in Pahalgam and killed them. Among those killed were IB officials including Air Force Airman.

Eyewitnesses claim that the terrorists asked religion before killing. One of the terrorists also told the woman, I will not kill you, go and tell Modi.

After this terrorist attack, on the one hand, while PM Modi came back after canceling his foreign tour, many important decisions were taken including suspending the Indus Water Treaty on the very next day.
