First of all let’s talk about India, currently E20 petrol has been implemented here, that is, 20% ethanol is mixed in petrol. The government aims to achieve E30 blending by 2030, so that dependence on oil imports can be reduced and farmers’ income can increase.
100% is also used in Brazil
Brazil is at the forefront of ethanol blending in the world. Here about 30% ethanol (E30) is mixed in ordinary petrol. Apart from this, many vehicles also run on 100% ethanol (E100).

Japan is last
Like India, Japan is also working towards increasing ethanol blending. The country has set a target of blending E10 by 2030 and E20 by 2040.
Dependence on oil will reduce
Let us tell you that increasing ethanol blending in petrol can reduce the expenditure on petroleum imports not only in India but in every country, reduce carbon emissions and provide new market opportunities to farmers associated with crops like sugarcane and maize. For this reason, many countries of the world are working on the policy of increasing ethanol blending at their own level.
