Arpita, wife of Sourav Ganguly’s brother, alleged that the boat was light due to the low capacity of the passengers, and due to this it turned out to be. He said, “The sea already had a very strong current. The boat had the ability to sit for 10 people, but in the greed of money, he allowed only three to four people to ride. It was the last boat going to the sea that day. We had expressed concern over going to the sea, but he (operators) told that it was fine.”
According to Arpita, as soon as the speedboat went inside the sea, a wave hit the boat strongly. Arpita was very scared after this accident. He said, “If lifeguards do not come, we cannot escape. I am still in shock. I have never seen anything. If there were more people, the boat would not have turned.”
