Vijay mallya interview: Fugitive businessman Vijay Mallya has apologized for the drowning of Kingfisher Airlines. He dismissed the allegations of theft on himself and clarified why he is leaving India and living in the UK? Mallya, referring to the 2008 economic recession, said that this affected his company as well as the country.

In Raj Shamani’s podcast, Vijay Mallya said, “I apologize to everyone for the failure of Kingfisher Airlines.” He has placed a condition for returning to India. He said, “If I get confidence of fair hearing and respectable life in India, then I will think seriously about returning to India.” He said, “You can call me a fugitive but don’t call me a thief. What does a thief mean. I am not running away. I came from India on a pre -scheduled journey.”
What is the charge of Vijay Mallya?
Vijay Mallya is accused of not paying loans worth more than Rs 9,000 crore to Indian banks to Kingfisher Airlines. The Government of India is legally trying to bring Vijay Mallya to India. In 2018, a UK court ruled his extradition. He is opposing returning to India citing unfair behavior and media trials.
Mallya’s response to CBI and ED allegations
Vijay Mallya also responded to the allegations of CBI and ED in this podcast. Mallya said, the CBI accused me of brand valuation and misuse of private jet. The ED has alleged money laundering of Rs 3547 crore, but 50 percent of the airline expenses were in foreign currency. It is nonsense to call it money laundering. “According to Mallya, he has also paid a loan of 900 crores to IDBI Bank.
