According to Punjab BJP chief Sunil Jakhar, Vijay Rupani was supposed to go to London on 5 June with his wife, but postponed the yatra till 12 June for the Ludhiana West by -election campaign. Jakhar expressed grief and said, ‘This is very unfortunate. Destiny and fate showed such a game that he got into trouble. Rupani was going to London to meet his wife and daughter, but he never arrived.

Rajkot Vijay Rupani’s house and Karmabhoomi, where he did many development works while being the Chief Minister. He completed the new airport, AIIMS Hospital and other basic projects. On his death, a local resident Sanjay Mehta said that Vijay Rupani was a big leader. Despite this, he was always like a common man. He was kind. We used to call him Vijaybhai. He was our neighbor. Rajkot Vijay Rupani was born on 2 August 1956 in a Jain family in Youngon city of Myanmar (then Burma), but in 1960 his family came to Rajkot in India due to political instability. His interest in politics was from college days. He remained very active in student politics and then later played a long innings in the BJP party. He was also the Chief Minister of Gujarat from 2016 to 2021. At the time of his death, he was working as Punjab BJP in -charge.
