Bihar Government Launches Pest Management Scheme for Fruit Crops With Up to 75 Percent Subsidy | Good news for fruit cultivation farmers, Bihar government giving 75% subsidy

There is good news for the farmers of Bihar. The state government has approved a special scheme to increase agricultural income and protect fruit yield from pests. In the financial year 2025-26, the government will now give subsidy to farmers for spraying fruit trees under the “Pest Management Plan”. The aim of this scheme is to increase the earnings of farmers and improve production by protecting the crop from insects.

Which crops will benefit?

The scheme includes major fruits like mango, litchi, guava, banana and papaya. Pesticides recommended to deal with insects and diseases on these fruits will be sprayed, which will be fully done through the government -authorized service providers.

How much will you get subsidy?

Under this scheme, farmers will be given subsidy ranging from 50% to 75% on spraying, which will reduce their pockets and ensure safety of crops. Know how much subsidy will be available on different fruits.

Guava- 75% subsidy will be available at the rate of 33 per tree on first spraying and 45 per tree on the second. There will be benefits up to a maximum of 56 trees.

Banana and Papaya- subsidy of 50% or 2,150 per acre or 50% or 2,000 per acre will be given on spraying first.

Mango- 57 per tree on first spraying and 75% subsidy at the rate of 72 per tree on second spraying. A farmer will be able to take advantage of maximum 112 trees.

Lychee- Subsidy at the rate of 162 per tree on first spraying and 114 per tree on the second. Here a farmer can take advantage of 84 trees.

How to apply?

To avail this scheme, farmers will have to apply online on DBT Agricultural Portal. The process of application has been kept transparent and spraying work will be done according to the completely set standards.

Why is this plan special?

Farmers producing fruit in Bihar often suffer heavy losses due to pests and diseases. While this initiative of the government will reduce their cost, the quality and quantity of the produce will also be better. The special thing is that farmers will be able to spray only nominal amount without any personal expenses.
