IND Vs Eng: Shubman Gill, who clashed with the umpire, fierce fierce fierce in Lord’s; ICC can hear strict punishment

A controversial incident occurred on the second day of the Lord’s Test between India and England, where Indian captain Shubman Gill was seen arguing with the umpire. Gill can get punishment towards ICC for this.

Due to Jasprit Bumrah’s deadly bowling, India made a great start of the day. Bumrah sent Ben Stokes, Joe Root and Chris Woakes to the pavilion on the second day.

After this, as the ball became old, the effect of Indian bowlers decreased. The Indian bowlers were unhappy with how the Duke Ball only got spoiled so soon.

On this, captain Shubman Gill demanded a new ball from the umpires. The umpires changed the ball, but the new ball was given, it looked older than the first one.

Gill then angry with the umpire and he started arguing with the umpire with anger. Looking at Gill, it seemed that he was demanding another ball. However, the umpire refused to change the ball again.

This behavior of Gill can be considered a violation of Article 2.8 of ICC rules, in which it is a punishable offense to disagree on the umpire’s decision. Now it has to be seen whether the ICC acts on it or not.
