School Closed: School-college closed in this city due to Kavad Yatra, administration took a big decision

The beauty of the Kandar Yatra in Meerut has intensified and with this, the administration has taken a big decision and has declared a holiday in all schools and colleges of the district from July 16 to July 23. This order will be strictly applicable to all boards, whether it is government or private, whether it is government or private.

District Magistrate Dr. V.K. Singh issued the order and clarified that the main festival of Shivaratri is on 23 July and the tradition of Jalabhishek will be played on the same day. In such a situation, the Kandar Yatra will be on its entirety and millions of Kawandi will pass through the district. This decision has been taken in terms of congestion and security, so that the impact on traffic and public facilities can be reduced and the safety of students can be ensured.

All closed from schools to degree colleges

The administration has clearly stated in the order that all the primary and upper primary schools running under the Basic Education Council, all the Inter College, CBSE, ICSE Board, Madrasa Board, as well as all degree colleges and technical institutes will be completely closed from July 16 to July 23. This time this has happened for the first time when a holiday has also been announced in degree colleges during the Kavad Yatra, which is a new decision in itself.

Strict action will be taken for not obeying orders

DM Dr. Singh has warned that if a school or college is found open during these holidays, strict action will be taken against him. He has instructed the Regional Higher Education Officer, Principal of Degree Colleges, ITI Heads, District School Inspector (DIOS) and BSA to ensure compliance of this order.

Officers issued instructions

DIOS Rajesh Kumar and BSA Asha Chaudhary have also asked the principals and principals of all schools to strictly follow the order. During the Kandar Yatra, millions of Shiva devotees take Ganga water from Haridwar and go to their respective pagoda and Meerut is a major route of this holy journey. In such a situation, the decision to keep school-colleges closed is considered important in terms of both security and ease.
