Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge have written a special letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi about Jammu and Kashmir. Rahul and Kharge have demanded the PM to enact a new law for Jammu and Kashmir through a letter. He says that he should get full state status. The Congress party has also shared this letter on the X handle.
Rahul and Kharge told PM Modi through a letter, “We urge the government to bring a bill in the upcoming monsoon session of Parliament to give full state status to Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. You have personally reiterated on several occasions that the government is committed to restoring state status.
Rahul justified the demand of the people of Jammu and Kashmir
Rahul and Kharge have said through the letter that for the last five years, the people of Jammu and Kashmir have been continuously demanding to restore the status of full state. Apart from being justified, this demand is also based on their constitutional and democratic rights.
