However, BCCI had made it clear that ‘Hitman’ is not retiring yet. Now former cricketer Mohammad Kaif says that Rohit Sharma has silenced his critics by scoring a century at Lord’s.
Amidst speculations about the last match, Rohit Sharma played a memorable century of 138 runs in the last ODI against England. Mohammad Kaif says that Rohit has been proving his ability time and again and he should be given the freedom to decide when he wants to end his career.

Mohammad Kaif shared a video clip on his social media account in which he said, “Retirement is done, got my nose cut. The decision as to when Rohit Sharma will retire should be left to him. This is his right and he has worked hard for Team India. Therefore, he has the right to retire as per his wish. Scored 12000 runs and 34 centuries, and did not let India lose as long as he was the captain. Didn’t let the heat come, such a captain.” It was that.”

Talking about ODI cricket, Rohit Sharma has become the first Indian batsman to score a century at Lord’s ground. Mohammad Kaif says that even under the pressure of being out of the team, Rohit scored a century, but when he gets the support of the captain, coach and BCCI, he will sacrifice his life for the country.

Mohammad Kaif said, “Rohit Sharma is the first Indian to score a century in ODI at Lord’s. Now suppose captain Shubman Gill openly says that I want Rohit Bhai in the 2027 World Cup. BCCI also said that no one should point a finger at Rohit, we stand with him. Rohit Sharma will play as long as he wants. If this statement comes, what will he do?”
He further said, “Right now Rohit is under this pressure and everyone is waiting for him to get out and be dropped from the team. Under that pressure, he has scored a century with his bat. When he will realize that the coach, captain and BCCI are all standing with him, that brother will climb the Himalayan mountain. He will sacrifice his life for the country, he is such a player.”
