According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), intensity was measured at 7.7 on the Richter scale of the earthquake in Sagaiing, Myanmar. Shortly after this earthquake, the second earthquake of 6.4 magnitude occurred. The tremors of this earthquake were also felt in Thailand. Where many buildings collapsed in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. At the same time, a bridge over the river in Myanmar collapsed.
People were rescued from Mandley Airport in Myanmar after strong earthquake. In the video that went viral on social media, there was a stampede -like situation after the alert alarm played at the airport. Along with this, videos came out in other cities also falling out of many buildings and running out of people’s homes. The bridge over the Iravati river of Myanmar also collapsed, due to which the connectivity to two cities also broke.
Myanmar’s army declared emergency
Myanmar’s army has declared an ‘Emergency’ in a large part of the central part of the country, including the second city Mandalay and the military-made capital Napatavat. According to CNN, emergency has been declared in Sagiing, Mandalay, Bago and Magway areas as well as Eastern Shaan State.
Thai PM declared Bangkok as ‘Emergency Zone’
The Prime Minister of Thailand has declared Bangkok as an ‘Emergency Zone’ after an earthquake in the neighboring country Myanmar. According to the statement of the PM office, ‘The Prime Minister has informed the Ministry of Home Affairs to immediately declare Bangkok as Emergency Zone and to consider all the states of the country as emergency so that public assistance can be provided immediately if needed.’
