Air india flight: A major accident has been averted at Mumbai Airport. The plane of Air India, coming from Kochi in Kerala to Mumbai, slipped on the runway during the landing. In this accident caused by heavy rains, all three tires of the plane were torn. It is a matter of relief that all passengers are safe. At the time when this incident happened, Mumbai was raining heavily, due to which the landing was very challenging and that is why flight-AI2744 slipped on the runway. There is no news of anyone being injured in this accident.
What did Air India say by issuing a statement?
Air India told about the incident that all passengers and crew members have been taken away safely. A airline spokesman said, ‘Plain AI2744, flying from Kochi to Mumbai on July 21, slipped on the runway during landing at Mumbai Airport. The plane safely reached the gate and all the passengers were evacuated safely. The aircraft has been temporarily grounded for examination.
Mumbai Airport also released a statement
A statement on this incident has also been issued by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA). CSMIA said, ‘On 21 July 2025 at 09:27 am, an aircraft from Kochi slipped while landing on the runway of Mumbai Airport. CSMIA’s Emergency Response team immediately reached the spot immediately after the incident. All passengers and crew members were immediately removed from the plane. They are all safe. Man Runway 09/27 has received a minor loss. To ensure the continuity of operations, the Secondary Runway 14/32 has been activated. Security in CSMIA is always our top priority.
