Rajya Sabha MP and Congress leader Imran Pratapgarhhi has launched a scathing attack on the resignation of Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar and the foreign tour of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He described it as a mockery of democratic traditions and questioned whether the Prime Minister’s foreign visits have now become important from the Parliament session?

Imran Pratapgadhi wrote in a post on X, “Earlier the Parliament session started, then the Prime Minister used to return to India after finishing the tour of the world to take ‘part’, now the Parliament session starts, then the Prime Minister goes out on a foreign tour to take ‘Bhag’. The Vice President resigned from the post on the first day of the session, what will the Prime Minister leave and leave the session.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is currently on an official visit to two countries, while Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar suddenly resigned from his post on Monday (July 21, 2025). He submitted his resignation to the President citing health reasons, which was also accepted with immediate effect.

Opposition raised questions on the timing of the resignation of the Vice President

The sudden resignation of Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar has created a stir in political circles. The opposition has raised serious questions on the timing of this decision. Many parties including Congress, SP and TMC have asked how the post of Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman was vacant when the government’s accountability was to be fixed in Parliament.
