The last time before Jaiswal, 50 or more runs were scored by Sunil Gavaskar in 1974 on the Manchester ground.

Earlier, this feat was done by Gavaskar in the year 1974 as an opener.

Jaiswal has done another feat due to the innings of 58 runs. Jaiswal has completed 1000 runs in a Test match against England. Jaiswal has scored 1003 runs in 9 Tests at an average of around 67. Jaiswal has scored 5 half -centuries and three centuries against England. Jaiswal has become only the 20th Indian batsman to do this feat. At the same time, Jaiswal, who did so, has become only the fourth Indian opener. Jaiswal has done this feat in just 16 innings. Beyond Jaiswal, only Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid are. Both had completed 1000 runs against England in just 15 innings.
