This cube has a complete operation theater, which can do life saving surgery in any emergency. Head and Neck Onco Surgeon Dr. Anvita Bhansali recently explained about this operation theater in the Indian Air Force.
What is Bhishma Cube?
Bhishma Cube is a portable hospital, which is packed in 72 small cubes. You can deliver it anywhere by air, sea, or road. It has been designed to provide medical facilities especially in disaster areas. This cube has an advance medical equipment, solar panel and battery -running capacity.
What is special in Bhishma Cube?
Dr. Bhansali said that the operation theater of Bhishma Cub is completely self -sufficient. It installs five solar panels, which can be twisted like small briefcases. These panels give power to the DC generator, which help in running all the basic equipment present in the operation theater. This theater has facilities like shadowless light and portable headlight, which help in doing basic surgery. This theater can do life saving and organ saving surgery.

How is the patient surgery in this?
Bhishma Cube has equipment that makes the patient’s surgery easier. This includes adult and pediatric ventilator kits, automatic tunic kits, portable infusions pump and multipara monitor. Apart from these, bifurgic defibrillars, portable oxygen cylinders and basic medicine kits are also present. According to Dr. Bhansali, if a patient needs ventilation, then Pediatric ventilator can use kit. If a patient is bleeding, you can control the automatic tunic. Portable infusion pump helps in drug delivery, while Multipara monitors continuously monitor the patient’s watts.
Even capable of doing special surgery
Significantly, Bhishma Cub has such equipment, which also help in doing special surgery. According to Dr. Bhansali, surgery can also be performed in this theater like Mini Trexostomy, Crycothirodotomy and Caesarean section. Apart from this, Fallis catheterization kits, jet lavage systems and basic tracostomy kits are also available, which can help save the patient’s life.
