Nag panchami 2025: The month of Sawan is a symbol of Shiva Bhakti, and comes in the same spring Nag Panchami, a festival that connects us directly with nature, snakes and cosmic energy.

Mahabharata episode
King Janmejaya performed a Sarpasatra Yajna for the destruction of the serpents. Then the believer Muni stopped this yagna on Panchami Tithi. Since then, this day became a festival of protecting and worshiping serpents.

- Prabhat bath and fast.
- Install the Nag Devta’s idol (soil, silver or picture) on a clean post.
- Offer turmeric, roli, rice, flowers and durva grass.
- Bathing (anointing) with milk, honey, ghee, sugar and water.
