India’s batting coach Sitanshu Kotak did not deny Jaspreet Bumrah’s possibility of playing in the fifth and final Test match against England and said here on Tuesday that the fast bowler is fit for bowling according to his charge management.
Bumrah, who struggled with injuries, was selected for three Test matches on a tour management under the charge management, but the series has now reached a delicate turn and can play the fifth Test match starting on July 31 due to the circumstances.
After a dramatic draw in Manchester, head coach Gautam Gambhir also did not rule out the possibility of Bumrah’s playing in this important match. Kotak repeated this on Tuesday.
Kotak said two days before the match, “Bumrah is now fit according to his charge management. He bowled in an innings in the last match. So obviously the head coach, our physio and captain will discuss and decide. There has been no discussion on this subject yet. ,
In Old Trafford, Gambhir also confirmed that all his fast bowlers are fit, which means Arshdeep Singh and Akash Deep have recovered from injuries. Mohammad Siraj is the only Indian fast bowler to play all matches in the series so far.
When Kotak was asked about Siraj’s charge management, he said, “I don’t know what you guys think about the real charge.” If I tell in simple words, if a bowler puts an over in a certain number per week before the Test series, then his work is guessed.
He said, “They have a GPS. This record shows how many overs have the bowler in the whole week. They are in constant touch with the bowling coach. From a record of the last 4-5 weeks, it is found that their charge is not increased.
Kotak said, “What is this increase in the charge. If a bowler is putting 30 overs every week and suddenly he puts 35 overs in the first innings, then it is an increase in his charge. Therefore, the number of overs that Siraj is putting every week, it is not necessary that it is due to practice. This can also be caused by the match. If the bowler feels tired then his workload is considered.
