Ind vs eng 5th test: Before the decisive match of the ongoing exciting Test series between India and England, England’s team seems to be moving towards a big decision. England may have to pay the price of not being able to allout Team India in the Manchester Test. Former England veteran fast bowler Stuart Broad and former captain Nasir Hussain believe that Jofra Archer, who is returning to Test cricket after a long time, should be rested in the fifth Test.
Broad said this about Archer
Stuart Broad believes that Archer should not include the team in the final Test of the series. He said during a conversation with Sky Sports, “We cannot keep Jofra Archer out of the team for four years and then after his return, put so much workload on him that he does not be able to play again for the next four years.”
Broad suggested that in the last Test, Gus Atkinson should get a chance to play in the team. England has not given them a chance against the big teams at the moment, due to which the workload has not been done on the gus yet. The biggest thing than that is that this test is being held on his home ground. In such a situation, this can be a great opportunity for them.
Broad also said that Bridan Cars, who played in the fourth Test, also appeared quite tired during the bowling and Josh Tung was also able to dismiss only the lower order batsmen. In such a situation, the team can get a better option instead of Archer.
Former captain Nasir Hussain also gave this advice
Supporting Broad’s statement, former England veteran Nasir Hussain also said, “The bowler who returns after four years should not feed three Test matches directly. If one of your bowlers Atkinson fit, then he must give a chance on the home ground.”
How was Archer’s performance?
Jofra Archer, who is returning after four years, has performed impressively in this series so far. He took a wicket on the third ball of the over in Lord’s Test and took a total of 5 wickets in the match. At the same time, he also performed brilliantly in the Manchester Test. Despite this, in view of his fitness, he is being advised to give him comfort.
India hopes for equal in final match
England are currently 2–1 in the five-match Test series. However, India still has a chance to draw the series 2-2 by winning the fifth Test. Interestingly, the last time also India finished the Test series in England at 2-2.
