The Trinamool Congress has made Kakoli Ghosh Dasidar its Chief Whip and Shatabdi Rai as its deputy leader in the Lok Sabha. The Trinamool Congress posted on X and said, “Kalyan Banerjee submitted his resignation to party president Mamata Banerjee from the post of Chief Whip of Parliamentary Party on 4 August 2025. The party president has accepted her resignation and thanked her for her contribution to this role.”
Kakoli Ghosh became the Chief Whip of the party in the Lok Sabha
The Trinamool Congress said, “After consulting senior MPs of the party, TMC President Mamta Banerjee has named Dr. Kakoli Ghosh Dasidar his Chief Whip and Shatabdi Roy as his Deputy Leader with immediate effect. We wish both of us both for their new roles and their constant efforts to maintain their new roles and their pride, rights and respect.”
Kalyan Banerjee accused after resigning
For the past few months, there is a habit of estrangement among the leaders of Bengal TMC. Kalyan Banerjee, after resigning from the party’s chief whip in the Lok Sabha, alleged that they were being blamed wrongly for lack of coordination among MPs, while some MPs are barely in Parliament.
Kalyan Bujee said, “I have left the post of Chief Whip of the party in the Lok Sabha, because Didi (West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee) said during a digital meeting that there is a lack of coordination between party MPs, so the blame is on me. Because of this I have decided to step down.”
Abhishek Banerjee will meet Kalyan Banerjee and Mahua Moitra
Kalyan Banerjee said, “Didi says that Lok Sabha members are fighting and quarreling … Should I tolerate those who call me abusive? I informed the party, but instead of taking action against me, they are blaming me.”
The war between Kalyan Banerjee and Mahua Moitra continues in the Trinamool Congress. The two leaders are accusing each other. CM Mamta Banerjee’s nephew Abhishek Banerjee will meet Kalyan Banerjee and Mahua Moitra on August 7 and will solve this issue.
