Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan may be in jail, but he is not allowing the government to sit peacefully. Imran’s supporters have given sleep to Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif. Imran’s supporters, who have been in jail for almost two years, staged a fierce protest. Hundreds of supporters took to the streets on Tuesday (August 5) in Pakistan.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party workers and supporters are demanding the release of Imran. PTI activists claim that more than 500 party workers were arrested in an overnight raid in Lahore. Protests in many places in Pakistan
The party has asked its leaders to protest at different places, while the central leadership of PTI has made a plan in collaboration with the leaders of Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab. According to the plan announced by PTI, there will be peaceful protests in four provinces and POJK. All members of the National Assembly (MNA) and Senator Adiala will gather outside the Adiala Jail under the leadership of Imran Khan’s sister Alima Khan.
Increased security of jail
Meanwhile, security has been increased around Adiala Jail in view of the protests announced by PTI. This step has been taken after the request for the deployment of additional police force. Along with this, Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CRPC) has also been implemented while tightening security. Illegal gathering and a large number of people gathering have been banned. This section has been implemented in both Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
Imran was arrested in 2023
Imran Khan took charge as the Prime Minister of Pakistan in 2018, but in 2022 he was removed from power through a no -confidence motion. After his arrest in 2023, there were protests across Pakistan, after which strict action against PTI started. In January, Imran Khan was convicted in a corruption case.
