Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has clarified his strategy and future plan regarding the Gaza struggle. He removing international concerns said that Israel would “not capture Gaza” but eventually hand over it to an interim rule.
Main objective of war
Netanyahu gave two major goals: 1. Complete destruction of Hamas and 2. Return of all Israeli hostages. He said that this war could end immediately, “probably only tomorrow”, if Hamas lay unconditionally arms and releases the hostages.
War Plan
Netanyahu said that a security perimeter would be built in Gaza after the war, so that there is no threat to Israel in future. He says that the land of Gaza will not be under Israeli control, but will be subject to a new power that will ensure safety of borders while avoiding permanent military occupation.
